The building is an 8-minute walk from Horikiri-shobuen Station. Oshiage (Tokyo Skytree) is about 14 minutes by train. Asakusa is about 15 minutes by train. Ueno is about 15 minutes by train.
Getting here from the airports
- Narita (NRT): about 65 minutes by train to Horikiri-shobuen Station; one change at Aoto.
- Haneda (HND): about 60 minutes by train to Horikiri-shobuen Station; also one change at Aoto, onto the through service to the Keikyu Line.
Daily needs are covered on foot: convenience store 2 min, supermarket 5 min, drugstore 5 min, with cafes and restaurants throughout the area.

Yes, inside your own unit. Every unit has its own washing machine, so there is no coin laundry to find and no queue for a shared machine. There is a drying rack in the unit; on a week-long trip this is usually the difference between one suitcase and two.
How do we get to the airports?
Horikiri-shobuen is on the Keisei Main Line, connected to Aoto where the airport services run. Narita takes roughly 65 minutes and Haneda about 60, changing once at Aoto. If you are arriving late, note that the last airport trains matter more than the journey time — message us and we will tell you what works for your flight.
We are travelling with a baby. What is available?
One high chair, one bed-in-bed infant bed and a toilet training seat are available on request — ask when you book, as there is one set for the building. The building has three floors of stairs and no lift, and units are assigned rather than chosen, so with a pushchair it is worth telling us when you book and packing on the light side.
What is around Horikiri?
Horikiri is a quiet residential part of Katsushika on Tokyo's old east side. The station is named after Horikiri Shobuen, the iris garden that draws crowds every June, and the Arakawa riverbank is a short walk for a run or a view of the Skytree. A convenience store is 2 minutes away and a supermarket about 5. Asakusa and Ueno are both about 15 minutes by train.
